Patio puddles

Hello

Our patio is now just a minor pond, instead of the bird-bath-paradise lake it was yesterday. Lots of rain is great, especially when it's followed by perfect sunny days!    Tho, a guy was supposed to come trim our big crazy oleanders on Tuesday, but didn't show up cuz it was raining. But he still hasn't shown up. Hope he comes this weekend so we can throw the branches on the curb for bulk-trash day Monday.

It's open enrollment for health insurance at work right now, so we've been trying to figure out the best plan. Always frustrating, especially with all the costs going up so much. Tho, my weekly payroll deduction will actually go DOWN this year because they changed the categories, so now I'm just paying for “Employee & Spouse” instead of “Employee & Family,” so we're not paying for invisible kids anymore! That's nice :)

D'oh! The cat is sitting here on the desk, and I noticed her batting something around, chasing it around the desk.... I looked over, and it was (had been) the little pile of my necklace & rings that I had set on the desk last night before bed. As I looked over, I saw my wedding ring go shooting across the desk! whoops! So I braved life & limb (well, mostly limb) and grabbed it away from her. Then I moved 'em to the other side of the desk.  Where she's now calming sitting on top of them. Hmmm, I should probably be more careful... hee :)

We just did health benefits too. Who do you guys go through-- Aetna?

We have a whole bunch of insurance providers that we get to choose from, so it gets confusing. I'm sticking with Aetna, tho. And we have different providers for dental and for vision, too!

ps.
the oleanders look terrible. sigh. "trimming" apparently means hacking the tops off. So they're all very short and sticklike. I'm told they grow fast, tho, so hopefully they'll look more normal soon! :(

VSP is a great vision plan if you have access to it. The oleanders will grow really quickly - they are literally like weeds. You could even throw some cheapo fertilizer or steer manure on them if you want to get them moving along quicker. Hope you get some ducks back there. We get them in our pool pretty often. Metro-ruralscapes, I guess.
