We've got a wet, leaky basement. If it's not one water disaster in this house, it's another (dripping bathtub makes the ceiling fall down; old toilet valve drips water into the glasses in the kitchen cupboard below; water heater spills; garage is a sieve; dog drools). So, Mom got us these silly little things called Leak Frogs for Christmas. They're plastic, they're cute, and they're utterly goofy.
Last night, Jim got out of the shower and said, “What's that beeping?“ I followed the noise downstairs, and then down another flight of stairs, until I found one of our little Leak Frogs chirping away in the wet basement. Thanks, Leak Frog (and Mom)! It wasn't rain seeping in, or the old water heaters giving out. No, it was a much more amusing, embarassing & unlikely tale involving a new shower fixture, some old, bad caulking, and a three-story waterfall through the middle of the house. Sigh. But problem solved, and Leak Frog is the happy hero. :-)
