Ring, ring

Why can't cell phones just ring anymore? I got a new cellphone yesterday, and it's very cool, but every ringtone is loud & complicated & embarassing. Right now I have it on Vivaldi's Four Seasons, but I might change it back to Bolero. Either way, I wish it would just go rrriiiing! Oh well. It's cool anyway- it's got a camera! So I can take blurry, low-resolution photos & send them to you all day long! yay! & it has my same old phone number, so that's cool too. (It's taking awhile to switch the number over, tho... so I can call from my new phone, but if you call me, my old phone rings. So I'm carry both)  :-)

Today we're supposed to go hiking with Brody & Jessie & Chris. Tho it's looking very cloudy & cold & it's supposed to rain today. I hope we go anyway, tho. Last week I went hiking & wore jeans & swore I would only wear shorts from now on. But it's really cold out today, so I may wear jeans again. & then complain when I get hot anyway... hee hee

We went to see “Fog of War” last night- it's a documentary about Robert McNamara, who was a guy I'd never heard of before :)  But he was secretary of defense during the Cold War & Vietnam, so it was really fascinating to hear his take on everything from his perspective now. It would have had more impact, I think, if I were older & had actually lived through those events & had my own opinions & personal feelings on them like he does, but it was pretty cool anyway.  Tho, it would have been just as cool & probably more comfortable if we had been home watching it on PBS. It was a packed theater (only showing on 1 screen in the entire Valley) with lots of old people (see observation above), including a woman who would go “Uh huh,” or “Hmmmm,” everytime McNamara would make an interesting point, which was about every 10 seconds. And there was also a guy with an oxygen machine, so every 15 seconds or so, everyone could hear “Ptssssh-shhoooo” from the machine. I think quiet documentaries are not meant to be shared with 100 other people.

Ok, gonna go get ready to go hiking... and hope it doesn't rain! :)

Have a great day!

I think the rain is a generous gift from LA...it was pouring all night last night.

You watch old people documentaries... and you love it. (you know you would have been doing the 'uh huh's' if you were just a little bit quicker on the uptake) lol j/k I don't know where that streak of meanness came from. Ptssssh-shhoooo.
