Gramma & Vern were here this weekend, and we had a good time with them. This was their first time visiting us in Salem, tho they've been to the town several times, before we lived here. We played cards, and visited Gramma's friend, and drove around, and went to the farmer's market (Gramma bought a whole flat of strawberries. mmm!), and went out for breakfast and polished silver and cleaned drapes. And we went to an antique store where Gramma bought another piece of pink Depression glass, and we ended up with a huge, perfect persian rug for the dining room for dirt cheap. It was shocking & wonderful & looks really nice in the house.
Jim & I went on a 7-mile bike ride today. It was fun, and good weather for it. He's decided he really wants to get into riding, and he went with a group from the bike shop on Saturday. They rode for 13 miles.
I think we don't have anymore visitors for the rest of June. But on July 1, we're having a big Independence Day bbq at our place, and Joe, Jessi & Jerry are coming down for that, I think. Rachel is coming here for her birthday, and we're going to see “The Importance of Being Earnest” at the Shakespeare Fest in Ashland. J/J/J are coming back to town for my birthday. Jessi's going to run the Salem Art Fair 5k with me in Bush Park. Then we're all going camping for a few days on the coast. I'm excited! Then I think Jim & I are going to Idaho the first weekend in August. Busy, busy. But looking like a fun summer :)
PS
We got blueberries & blackberries at the farmers market, too. Mmm. And, fyi, bananas are super cheap at Costco.
