Went with some work friends today to a hot spring outside of Eugene. It felt sooo good! It was nice on my recovering-from-the-plague lungs. And it left my skin all soft & smooth, too.
The first spring was shockingly hot. I waded in, got to the middle, and then realized that it was BURNING. So my wade out of the spring was much faster than the wade into it :-) But the little pool beside it was just perfect.
I finished “The River Why” last night but was exhausted and didn't go to Book Club. :-( It's a great book. I know that authors are very conscious of the words and structure that they're using, but in that book, it felt like the author *chose* every single word for an exact purpose. It was like a poetry novel. Every character was carefully crafted, every bit of dialogue purposely spoken, every interaction hilarious and poignant. I was impressed. Although I think the main character's long, crazed, nighttime spiritual stumble through the forest intersected with my most feverish moments, so I may need to give the whole thing a re-read to figure out if the book was crazy, or I was, or we both were.
I'm going to go watch “The Sea Inside,“ a movie recommended by Rachel and lent to me by Adam & Melissa.
Bye!
