I've had iTunes on random while I've been sitting here paying bills. I don't listen to music much, which I know is sad & regretable. But that's the way it is. Thoughts:
“Honky Tonk Union,” by Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers. I forgot how much I love this song! “Getting married in a honky tonk bar!” I never actually liked going to these Tempe boys' concerts as much as I like listening to their music. Though Roger did speak at an ASU journalism department function once, and he was great.
“Popular,” by Nada Surf. Ha, I don't even know why I have this. My brother probably put it on my computer. It's about high school, and it came out when I was in high school, and it was stupid-amusing then, and it still is. Yes, Chris, Nada Surf is much better than “Popular.”
Something by Muse. Another Chris song. Ergh. I had to skip it. Sorry, I just can't handle the Muse. I try, sorta! (Oh, the song is “The Small Print,” FYI)
“Pleasure and Pain,” by Ben Harper. I don't recall knowing this song, but I like it. Jim has finally discovered that he likes Ben Harper, via the Live From Mars CDs. Yay! I've seen Ben Harper several times, and he's always great. When I saw him in Phoenix with Chris & Rachel, that was probably one of the best concerts ever. And I was sad that Jim didn't go with us. So next time Ben Harper comes around, Jim & I can go together & he can experience the superduperness of Ben Harper.
OK, now the music is going off. Oh- there was a lot of Rufus Wainwright mixed in there, of course. And Damien Rice. (I know a lot of people like “Once” the movie and “Once” the soundtrack, and it's good and all, but it just makes me want to listen to Damien more.)
