Sunny days, chasin' the blues away

Ate all the blueberries. They were delicious. Too bad I'll be out of town for tomorrow's Saturday Market to get more fruit. Maybe I should stop & pick some up for my drive to Seattle.... Going up for Joe's birthday! My work schedule got switched around at work for next week, but it worked in my favor because now I have 5 days off in a row for my vacation, instead of 3. Sweet :)   Borrowed Beth's backpack and am all eager to go backpacking! Should be fun. I think we're going to Hester Lake.

Kitten & I had our best lovefest ever. He actually walked over & climbed up into my lap and let me pet him for a long time. It was very sweet. We're making progress... until I leave for 4 days. In other kitty integration news, the kitten-Mozart peace talks have been put on hold because of an invasion by Zula. Mozart has cut off contact & is hiding upstairs. The kitten spent a good chunk of time behind the bookcase. Now Zula gets to stay outside for the most part (which thankfully she likes), and at night the kitten will stay in his kennel.  And Jim gets to deal with this whole kitten-Mozart-Zula-Brody snafu by himself for the weekend :)

The kitten looks really cute right now, but if I get up to get my camera for you he'll probably move. D'oh!

I guess my newspapers days have caught up with me, I mean, Who is Zula?

Isn't Zula a god from another dimension who has come to take posession of Earth's kitten supply? Anyway, Steff, I haven't managed to find that photo of Mozart yet. But soon...

Zula is a cute black doggy who lives down the street. Her owner is a reporter at the paper. Brody stays with them when we're gone, and she stays with us when they are gone.

Ahhh, hey thanks. I was wondering if I was missing something by not knowing who Zula was or is. Anyway, thanks. Do I know the reporter?

OK, random interjection:

I like Ethan Allen!

I think it's funny.

And maybe that's the exact reason you don't want to name him Ethan...

I still like Ethan.

I didn't know cats had last names too.

Of course cats (and dogs) have last names. When you fill out their stuff at the vet they gotta have a last name.
I worked at Petsmart--for about a year I was the receptionist in the groom shop--answer phones, made appointments, held wiggly dogs while the groomer brushed or cut hairs, etc. One of my jobs was to send postcards to the dog or cat when they were due for a cut or wash or whatever. I would use the animal's first name and the family's last name. Fluffy Smith, it is time for a bath. Anyway, one time I filled out the card for Pumpkin Dick. We have a great laugh over that one.
