Blue is my favorite flavor

This weekend, my friends Beth & Lori were obsessed with picking fruit. I skipped their strawberry expedition (45 pounds each!!) but joined them Saturday afternoon for picking blueberries. And boy did I pick blueberries (not nearly 45 pounds, tho). They're soooo yummy. Every year I wait expectantly for the nummy rare little fruits to show up at the farmers' market (Saturday was the first day of their season), and then I happily pay up for those tiny little baskets. But I got a pitcher-full of berries for $2.95. And I've been eating them nonstop. I expect my skin to turn blue pretty soon. I froze most of them, expecting them to go bad before I devour them. But at the rate I'm going, they won't stay in the freezer for long. They're good on cereal and yogurt and pancakes and oatmeal and by the handful morning, noon and night. They may, for the moment, be my favorite fruit, even above apples and strawberries. Weird.

Other things:

I cut my hair. Don't have a pic for you, tho. It's above my chin & cute!

Went to see a model home at Pringle Creek Community. It's a sustainable development & has some really impressive features.

“Animal, Vegetable, Miracle” by Barbara Kingsolver is awesome. Beth & I are going to make cheese!

Friday is my fourth wedding anniversary.

The Watermelon Ride is Sunday. 50 miles. I think we're ready, come wind or sun or hills.

Wow! Happy anniversary! It's hard to believe it's been that long.
Are you really going to make cheese? That's so cool!

Making cheese.... how fun. Have you read that silly book "Blessed are the Cheesemakers?" I love picking berries. Angie and I made strawberry jam and it was wonderful. Used to make blueberry preserves when we lived in Ohio and could spend the day up on huckleberry hill filling pails with them. It's neat to see you are so happy and having so much fun. Those houses are interesting. It's a cool concept. Did you see the prices on them, though. Holy cow.

Your hair does sound super cute! By the way, be careful with those blueberries. You know what happened to that girl in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...

Nothing would make me happier than to become a giant blueberry. I would roll all over town, being blue. Oh, and yes the Green community is totally cute, but also very ridiculous.
