I spent the weekend in Seattle (and riding on a train to/from Seattle). It was very fun & very quick.

The train is great, and it was even on time for the most part.

Joe picked me up at the station (sorta- the area was filled with rabid WSU fans swarming the nearby stadium, and Joe wasn't there yet, and the sea of red t-shirts was scaring me, so I just walked as far away from the station as possible, and he eventually found me wandering Seattle). We had lunch at a brewery by his house and then headed up to Everett and to Jessi & Jerry's new house.

Their house is so cute! It looks like a storybook cottage with a picket white fence and a yard full of flowers. I have pics but my camera is downstairs. Later. We arrived just as they were ready to unpack the truck. Luckily, there were like a bazillion guys there to help, and the house is fairly small, so I was just in the way while unloading the truck. So I did better things, like telling Joe which heavy thing to carry around next.

Joe & I got the living room area liveable, and then we took a little tour of Everett, including big old houses, a tree-filled park, the Puget Sound & Jessi's grandpa's light house, downtown, and Jessi's newsroom- which has a view of the water and which isn't old and filthy, like certain newsrooms I know. No fair. Everett's a nice little place.

We unpacked the kitchen, ordered pizza, and played cards late into the night. It was fun.

Next morning we had a great breakfast ( “gyro scramble,” anyone?), went to the Everett farmers market, played cribbage in Jessi's official card-playing nook (aka the dining room thingy). Then I got back on the train & rode home.

Yay for fun weekends :)

Jessi's grandpa has a lighthouse? Sweet!

Don't you love riding on the train? I'm jealous! :)
