When I showed up for the first day of my new job a month ago, my boss was standing in the lobby, waiting for me. “Oh good,” she said, “you're here. I have an errand to run. This is your office. Bye!”
So I'm used to being trusted in the office all alone. There are only six employees here. This week, two are on vacation all week, one is out with clients for three days, one is at his other part-time job, my boss is on vacation for half the week, and the remaining employee sits in a different part of the building. So she may or may not be here, I can't tell. So basically, it's just me. La la la.
I can run amok in my little government-agency office. Wooo! Duplicate copies for all! It's not nearly as exciting as it sounds. ;-) And trust me, it's about as different from a newsroom as you can get. I guess it's kind of like Jim's office at home... except I don't have cats on my keyboard or puppies chewing my toes.
But it is 1:30 and I haven't sorted the mail yet. I'm such a rebel!!
