Window washer

So I bought a cool big squeegie, and a cool big microfiber scrubby thing with which to apply the soapy water. They're great & work really well. The only problem is that they get water everywhere! The scrubby holds lots of water, and lots of water sops out of it when I apply it to the window, and then the squeegie sloughs off a bunch of water too, and it goes all over the floor & the sill & the walls. Any ideas on how to contain the soapy water?

Jim & I went on a great bike ride today. It took us over four covered bridges. I'll put up pics soon!

What are your Fourth of July plans?

I used to use a squeegee all the time when I did windows - it's the fastest, coolest way to wash - makes you feel like a professional! Re: the water problem - maybe no so much water on the soaky thingee, and always have a dry towel in your left hand when you are squeegeeing - you need to wipe off the squeegee between each squeeg and then a quick wipe of the sill (and wall and floor if necessary) and then you're on to the next window.

Okay, so I'm a bit behind on my blog reading but I checked with the window washer manager I call my husband about the excess of water. His first advice? Hire a professional. *wink* He did show me the best technique which is one very controlled swipe that cleans the entire window without lifting the squeegee even once with little run off. It was a beautiful thing. However it might take us average folks years to learn. Best case, use less water. It acutally takes very little water to clear the window. Just bampen the window so the squeegee glides easily and doesn't scratch. Very little water on, very little water off. He does say that it is impossible to never have to wipe a sill. It's just part of the game. Hope this is helpful!

Oooh, I'll have to practice that one-swipe technique! Thanks for the professional advice :)
